Logbook

Your hours. Your experience. Any operator.

A personal, portable engineer and pilot logbook. The core book is always free. Link an AirOS organisation when you choose — never because of your email address.

Engineer and pilot books

Keep rotary and fixed-wing work and flights in one account. One person can use both books without mixing totals.

Always-free core

Manual entry, search, totals, licences, competencies, verification and basic PDF/CSV export never require a subscription or an employer AirOS account.

User-to-user verification

Send a single entry, licence or competency for review. A completed record stores the verifier’s name, licence or qualification number, scope and the exact version reviewed.

Authorised business feed

Link an AirOS organisation explicitly. Eligible work and flights land in a review inbox. Nothing auto-files, and your private notes stay private.

iOS offline entry

Drafts and confirmed lines save on the device, survive an app restart, and sync once with client IDs so retries do not duplicate.

Optional Plus

Quick add from a single photo, multi-page scan and PDF extraction, plus ADS-B matching, are metered. Cancelling Plus keeps every confirmed entry, total and verification.

Free to keep, optional to enrich

Create a personal account, choose engineer, pilot or both, and add a line. A backup email is optional. Linking an AirOS organisation is an explicit step with an approved export policy — not an automatic match on email. Plus can photograph a single flight or job into the composer, or catch up a whole page of paper.

What verification stores

When another user verifies a record they confirm their name, licence or qualification number, issuing authority, date and scope against the exact version they reviewed. The system does not copy those details from an unrelated profile.

What Logbook is not

AirOS Logbook does not replace operational technical logs, maintenance release, flight dispatch, automatic licence eligibility decisions, or employer access to a person’s complete private book.

A career record you own

AirOS Logbook is a person-owned book, not an organisation tenant. Engineers and pilots create a personal account, choose a pilot book, an engineer book, or both, and start recording immediately.

The core logbook is permanently free. Users can create and maintain records without an AirOS business account or a paid subscription. Employers who use AirOS can offer an authorised feed; people whose employers do not use AirOS still have a complete product.

Manual entry first

Onboarding offers add an entry manually, Quick add from a photo (Plus), link an AirOS business account, import an existing logbook, or add licences and competencies. Manual entry is always available and prominent.

Engineer lines capture work date, aircraft or bench context, organisation, task, ATA, role, personal labour time and optional evidence. Pilot lines capture flight date, aircraft, places, crew role, loggable times, landings and remarks. Durations are stored as integer minutes with UTC timestamps and original timezone context.

  • Drafts are allowed; incomplete records are useful records
  • Personal labour time is distinct from elapsed task duration
  • Simulator sessions stay distinct from aircraft flights
  • PIC, night and instrument minutes classify the same flight — they are not added together
  • Opening balances are labelled as balances, not as individual flights

Verification is evidence, not certification

Owners can send a selected logbook entry, licence or competency to another user. The verifier sees only what was shared. Completing a verification requires an explicit confirmation of the stored name and licence or qualification number.

Verification does not imply regulatory approval, certification authority, release to service or licence eligibility. Material edits invalidate that version’s verification and keep the audit trail.

Linked organisations never browse the private book

Linking requires the personal account, proof of access to the business identity, user consent and the organisation’s approved export policy. Aircraft assignment or department membership is not evidence of participation. Planned flights may prefill drafts; they never count as completed personal records.

Disconnecting stops future business data access. Previously accepted personal summaries remain in the book. Confidential manuals, work packs and customer information are not copied by default.
